How We Do It
Envirolution™ believes in and supports the Win-Win Method:
Developing workforce while driving demand. We train and educate, with an emphasis on service learning, for relevant job markets and the training helps to drive the actual market demand for green products and services.
To achieve our goals, and to help individuals, organizations, and employers win, Envirolution™ developed and employs an operating model summarized by the acronym R.I.D.E.S. – Research, Innovate, Develop, Experiment and Scale – to create service learning programs with triple bottom line strategies that combine green workforce development and green business development. We ultimately seek to develop programs that can be packaged and implemented in other communities beyond the ones we work in.
Because creating programs that can be used in any community in the country is a challenging goal, our operating model follows logical steps to produce scalable products and services. The components of our operating model are summarized below:

Using the RIDES operating model, Envirolution™ has developed an innovative Clean Energy Analyst Curriculum™ that prepares students with general sustainability backgrounds and information, and propels them into the particulars of energy consulting, sales, and marketing. With a focuses primarily on efficiency, we have leveraged this curriculum to develop our educational programs, consulting services, and professionalization initiatives.
We reach out to the general population through various educational programs that function at three distinct levels of intensity. The fundamental elements of our work are made available to as many people as possible through our general programming, and for those who excel or demonstrate special interest in our general programs, we provide more in depth programs that offer them continued education, valuable experience, and leadership development. For the largest populations, our Level 1 programs introduce participants to key concepts, issues, and problem solving skills. For example, our Project ReCharge™ program targets K-12 students and incorporates important topics of sustainability into their traditional education subjects, building familiarity and awareness of Three Spheres and skill sets particular to a green industry. Our Level 2 programs, which are more advanced and focused, target workforce populations and allow participants to receive a deeper sustainability education that will prepare them to secure new and improve existing careers. Pathways to Prosperity Partnership™, our Level 2 program, allows current and incoming workforce populations to pursue training and to network within the green industry. Level 3 consists of our most advanced courses, which are equivalent in intensity to college and university courses. Our Win-Win Campaign™ provides further training, networking, and experiential learning through Level 3 curricula designed for ambitious students and professionals who seek an in-depth and comprehensive understanding of the three spheres approach to a particular industry.
Envirolution’s™ extensive networks of educators, agencies, professionals, leaders, and green business partners provide a variety of job placement opportunities avenues for our program graduates. Our knowledge of further educational and entrepreneurial opportunities connects our program participants to more opportunities to expand and utilize their skills and leadership abilities. We work to include our collaborating partners as much as possible because we believe it is essential for the youth and workforce to be exposed to the actual jobs, businesses, and opportunities that exist in green industries.
We design our programs and curricula to have the following characteristics:
- Triple Bottom Line Sustainability; sustainability—the balance of community, economy, and environment—is central to our programs and mission
- Market-Based and Relevant; we ensure that each one of our programs matches the regional green economy and that each contains information specific to that market
- Hands-On, Experiential Learning; appealing to the different styles of learning, our educational approach goes beyond textbooks and exams to provide tangible projects to help student learn and expand their skills
- Service Learning; giving back to our community is critical and helps drive our green economy, so we design our programs to include community projects so that our participants can simultaneously learn and give back to their communities
- Exposure to Tools of the Trade; as much as possible, we expose students to real, current tools of the trade and allow them to gain valuable experience and familiarity with these tools via experiential learning.
- Connection to Local Green Experts; via our networks of local experts, we provide mentoring opportunities between students, job seekers, and professionals in the green business community. Our mentorship-based networks of participants and collaborating partners play vital roles in job placement and makes our work more tangible and inspirational for our youth participants
Why We Do It
Ultimately, we believe that a green economy is the solution to many of the ills we face—social, economic, and environmental—and thus we are driven to facilitate the growth of this market. However, despite its economic feasibility and environmental and social necessity, there are many obstacles plaguing the growth of the green economy. Even with the tremendous amount of work to be done to green our economy, and the large number people looking for meaningful work to do, there is a disconnect: there is not currently enough demand for green products and services that will help drive the creation of new jobs and the workforce is not adequately prepared to engage in green work to grow a sustainable, beneficial economic system. We believe that the education of the general population and the workforce, along with leadership development, are critical to halting the stagnation of the growth of the green economy. To ensure its sustainability and vitality, our mission is to create programs that educate and empower youths, the workforce, and leaders, while simultaneously driving the demand for green products and services.
Envirolution™ recognizes the societal, economic, and environmental problems we face, and is dedicated to developing a three spheres approach to solutions while driving the demand and supply of green products, services, communities, and leaders. In order to fully achieve a green economy, we see a desperate need for a dynamic, innovative, and entrepreneurial workforce—and leaders— to drive the development of the green economy.
Who We Serve
While many organizations focus on servicing one population, like students or a particular field’s workforce, Envirolution™ believes that everyone can contribute to the growth of the green economy. We offer dynamic programs designed to serve a variety of communities. The primary recipients of Envirolution’s™ services are K-12 students and educators, and the general workforce. We also provide our services to local schools, businesses, buildings, professionals, and communities. Rather than only educating students, Envirolution™ educates students and their primary educators. While training the workforce, we also provide professional development and education opportunities for workforce agencies and employers. Our comprehensive “Train the Trainers” approach allows us to reach larger populations and to do the greatest good. Envirolution™ also recognizes the positive potential of such high-impact individuals as entrepreneurs and leaders, and organizations. While working from “the ground up” by educating youth and workforce populations, we also intend to cultivate driven, high-level individuals, organizations, and agencies through specialized, advanced offerings.
What Are The Benefits
As the primary beneficiaries of our services, K-12 students, the general workforce, and educators receive carefully designed training, hands-on experience, mentorship, and valuable network connections that enable them to continue to gain skills and knowledge relevant to their lives and jobs of the future. We are proud to deliver information about and access to green jobs, internships, and volunteer/service opportunities to our clients and program participants.
Through our work with primary recipients, we also provide an array of secondary benefits. To local schools, businesses, buildings, professionals, and communities, we provide sustainability consulting and aim to help these clients and participants increase their positive social, economic, and environmental impacts.
