Ann Kayman earned her B.A. from Barnard College of Columbia University in 1982, with honors in political economics, and her J.D. from Case Western Reserve University School of Law in 1985.
From 1985 to 1998, Ann practiced law with two major Midtown law firms, representing international clients in complex cases. From 1998-2002, Ann served in the Giuliani and Bloomberg Administrations as head of Business Development and Senior Vice President of the New York City Economic Development Corporation (EDC).
Ann won international awards for the City including: Global Innovator’s Award (2000), Intelligent Cities Award (2001), and Most Wired Central Business District Award (2000). She also hosted and executive produced the country’s largest venture capital conference & technology showcase, and organized major business events for the City at home, abroad and across the US. After 9/11, Ann was appointed to direct the City’s efforts to help with the recovery of 20,000 lower Manhattan businesses. Working extensively with federal, state and local agencies, nonprofits and business groups, Ann led a team of 500+ City workers and volunteers to deliver relief and business counseling.
Ann is now CEO of her own firm, the New York Grant Company. Established in 2002 in lower Manhattan, Ann’s team works to obtain economic incentives for hundreds of private clients in the New York Metro area. Most recently, Ann formed a team with Elias Dagher, PE, Principal of Dagher Engineering, and George Crawford, longtime New York City property manager and former President of Jeffries Morris, and former President of the Lincoln Square BID and member of the Board of the 34th St BID. Together they are NYG/DE Green Partners, LLC, offering building audits, feasibility studies, retrofits and incentives services to fund energy efficiency measures for building owners and property managers in New York City.
