Pathways To Prosperity Partnership (P3)
Recognizing New York City’s need for an intermediary between workforce training organizations, workforce placement agencies, employers, and the workforce, Envirolution™ teamed with Solar1 to develop the Pathways to Prosperity Partnership™ (P3). P3™ combines best practices, a hands-on training element, and coalition development to prepare the workforce to meet the demands of the growing green economy. Through this program, Envirolution™ operates as a workforce intermediary by uniting and organizing a network of employers, workforce agencies, and targeted workforce populations and Envirolution™ program graduates.
The Pathways to Prosperity Partnership™ program works through three main avenues. First, P3’s™ focus is distinct from those of other organizations and programs because it emphasizes and facilitates collaboration between workforce development agencies, employers, and trainees to implement the P3™ training element. Furthermore, P3™ specifically addresses the educational and professional needs of marginalized and disadvantaged populations. Second, P3™ hinges upon strategic stakeholder and employer engagement and market research, convening employers and agencies and forecasting market demands. Third, P3™ offers a variety of bridging opportunities for its participants: further education opportunities, access to Envirolution’s more advanced programs, and a vibrant network of job and professional development opportunities.
Through the P3™ program, Envirolution™ helps to coordinate workforce training and placement agencies to reduce redundancy in the job placement process. Participating job seekers learn a combination of soft (resume writing, professional etiquette, interviewing skills, etc) and hard skills (a variety of energy auditing skills, energy efficiency, etc) to prepare them for employment. Employers learn how to better market their needs and to select employees with the on-the-job experience that Envirolution™ provides to program participants. Workforce training and placement agencies also benefit from this program by relying on Envirolution™ as an intermediary body to coordinate their efforts.
While other organizations seek to provide “green training,” and many are still trying to understand what it means to be “green,” Envirolution™ is green, understands green opportunities, skills, and career ladders, and provides a cohesive network of peers, professionals, and collaborators to help unify and develop the green jobs movement. Through the P3™ program, Envirolution™ educates other organizations, employers, and the workforce about the current and future conditions of the green market, and how best to prepare to drive both the demand and supply of green products, services, employers, and jobs.
