About Enviroloution - Staff/Team

Skye Laskin is a Lake Tahoe area local, and while having the blessing of being well traveled, this community is where he hangs his hat. He has been a green living advocate since childhood. His interests in alternative energy, solar photovoltaic and micro hydro, and living off the land with his trusty SAS survival handbook, afforded Skye a great sense of independence. Skye graduated from Sierra Nevada College (SNC), Summa Cum Laude, with dual degrees—Bachelors of Science in Business Administrations and in Entrepreneurship and International Business—and has allowed his passion for sustainability to permeate his professional experiences.

From the Greening of the Campus Committee at SNC and his internship with the Nevada Institute for Renewable Energy Commercialization (NIREC) to the more recent work he has done with the Sierra Green Building Association (SIGBA) and the Truckee Donner Public Utility District, Skye has pursued sustainability and education throughout his personal and professional life.

Skye believes that, with proper education, people will make the right choice more often than not. It has been his goal to create and provide the education to enable patterns of efficiency to emerge and become the norm of society, one community at a time. Skye aims to squash the views that being sustainable and efficient means living without common creature comforts—on the contrary, sustainable and efficient living creates economic freedom!
