AmeriCorp VISTA ProgramCoordinator

Amari is an alumna of Virginia Commonwealth University (VCU) where she studied Global Education and was a recipient of the Benjamin A Gilman Award through the U.S. Department of Education in 2019. Amari served at a university level as the Weekend Programming Coordinator for the Activities Programming Board at VCU where she planned over 50+ campus-wide events attended by over 20,000 people. Amari enjoys roller skating in her free time and designing clothing on her sewing machine. Amari will serve a 12-month term of AmeriCorps VISTA service at Envirolution as our Program Coordinator VISTA. Amari will lead the pilot efforts of our new program: EDGE2 (The Empowerment and Development of Girls through Energy and Engineering). EDGE2 will serve as the umbrella program for our women, and girls’ empowerment efforts, including developing and streamlining our Energy Bike Workshop for girls, STEAM exploration events for the local Girls Scouts troops, and the annual Introduce a Girl to Engineering Day in collaboration with Tesla Motors.
