Brittney is a local to Reno, NV and when growing up she did not have a lot of experience being outdoors but rather learned to have a love and passion for the environment and sustainability through her teachers and programs in high school. She then went on to graduate from the University of Nevada, Reno with a bachelor in Environmental Science and a minor in Wildlife Ecology and Conservation. Throughout her time in college, she continued to learn more about environmentalism while also volunteering with various organizations aimed at serving immigrant communities and exploring the intersectionality between environmental education and underrepresented communities in Oakland, CA and Reno. Her love for serving led her to begin a term with AmeriCorps VISTA at Envirolution and this eventually led to a full-time position in our team! In her free time, she loves to spend time with family and friends, do yoga, discover new restaurants and coffee spots, and is continuously trying to improve her Spanish and remain close to her Nicaraguense roots.
