Keep Truckee Meadows Beautiful (KTMB) recruits over 4,000 volunteers a year to help with large scale cleanup events like the Truckee River Cleanup Day, the Great Community Cleanup, and year-round programs like Adopt-A-Spot. Did you Know: The Lockwood Landfill creates green energy from landfill gas? Lockwood powers two CAT 3520 engines, generating approximately 3.2 megawatts of electricity. The “green” electricity goes directly into the existing NV Energy electrical grid. That’s enough electricity to power approximately 2,000 homes annually.
