Highlights from Introduce a Girl to Engineering Day 2022

Highlights from Introduce a Girl to Engineering Day 2022  This year Envirolution was thrilled to be able to host two events for Introduce a Girl to Engineering Day. On February 24th, in partnership with the College of Engineering and the local chapter of the Society of Women Engineers we hosted 42 girls, nonbinary, and genderqueer students from Carson City and Eagle Valley middle schools to the University of Nevada, Reno. The students were able to engage in hands-on activities showcasing different engineering fields, learned about UNR’s latest technologies, and engaged with UNR engineering students and community leaders, and professionals from companies like NV Energy, Wood Rodgers, Enel Energy, Pk Electric, and more!

Post-surveys showed a 44% increase in students wanting to become an engineer and a 52% increase in the confidence to do so!In case you missed it, check some of the press from the event:
On February 26th we partnered with Tesla for the 5th year and had over 1500 students from across the country in 30 different states log on for an exclusive virtual behind-the-scenes tour of different Tesla factories. Students heard from inspiring women engineers and 500 participants had the opportunity to make their very own simple motor. Thank you to the Tesla volunteers that made this possible!
