Mark Korinek, C.P.M. is the Director of Operations and Sustainability for Carson City Schools and has been with the District in varying capacities for over 24 years. Mark is the founder/ chair of the N. Nev. Facility Management Association, member of Sustainable Building Coalition and Sustainable Partners of Northern Nevada (SPINN), and leads the Districts Sustainability Action Team. Mr. Korinek is an awardee of the Golden Pinecone Award for Sustainability Leadership in Nevada and recognized by the N Nev. Development Authority for leadership in Sustainability Excellence. He lead district efforts to a Reno Green Buildings Award for Regional Excellence, by achieving Energy Star certification in 90% of their schools.
Mark is passionate about sustainability and loves living in the Reno-Tahoe area. He enjoys his family, skiing, hiking, music and camping throughout the west.
