Roger Cramer

Project ReCharge Manager

Roger Cramer is an educator, athlete, and small business owner living in the Carson Valley. At UC San Diego, he majored in Physiology with a minor in US History.  He was Captain of the swim team and a 4-year All- American. After graduation, he traveled through Europe and Africa for a couple of years, then obtained his teaching credential in Secondary Science at Sacramento State and started teaching in Stockton, CA.  Shortly thereafter, he moved to Lake Tahoe and started his 30-year tenure with the Douglas County School District.

His work with Douglas County was varied and rich. He taught at the middle school and high school levels.  Over the years, he taught various courses in science, technology, engineering, math, and CTE. Roger spent the last seven years of his career at the Gregory Betts Professional Development Center in Minden, NV as a staff trainer for Douglas County. His work there was centered on coaching new teachers to the district, implementing the Next Generation Science Standards, expanding STEM integration K12 and any other initiative the District Office pursued.

After retirement from Douglas County, Roger wanted to stay involved in education and is excited to join the Envirolution team. The mission of the organization aligns with his personal vision that “All our students deserve rich experiences that foster creativity and innovation that empower and prepare them for a complex world.”

For fun, he likes to get outside and rockhound. If you want a cool rock from Nevada, let him know, and he can set you up.
