Celebrating Black History Month –
HAZEL ROLLINS REID O’LEARY

During this month of celebrating all the incredible contributions of black pioneers past, present, and future, we are highlighting the work of Hazel Rollins Reid O’Leary.  In 1977 she was head of the Department of Energy’s Economic Regulatory Administration where she successfully passed the Fuel Use Act and developed programs that assisted low-income residents. In 1993 she became the first and only woman to hold the position of U.S. Secretary of Energy where she was the principal architect of the Clinton energy policy which emphasized both conservation and innovation. From all of us at Envirolution and all the future energy leaders out there, THANK YOU for your contribution and impact on sustainability.
