Student-Driven Projects Completed

Dayton E.S. Lighting Retrofit – On November 21st, Envirolution and volunteers from McKinstry and NV Energy came out to Dayton Elementary school in Lyon County to help us finish the 2021 5th grade Project ReCharge student project. During 3 volunteer events over the year, over 1,700 fluorescent lamps were replaced with energy-saving LED lamps, resulting in yearly cost savings of $7,500 and reducing CO2 emissions by 42 metric tons! Thank you to NV Energy Foundation for helping fund this project!

Eagle Valley M.S. Cleanup – On October 13th, amazing Eagle Valley Middle School students and the Envirolution staff participated in a trash cleanup of their school and the surrounding park! The best part? This cleanup was all the brilliant idea of an 8th-grade student from Mrs. Tucker’s class! This student submitted a project last year to reduce the amount of trash that ends up in the river. We support our PRC Student Projects in order to make their sustainability goals a reality! Great job, Eagle Valley Middle School!
