Teacher Training Recap

The school year is flying by and we have already hosted two teacher trainings this September. Our first one covered thermal systems where elementary teachers looked at the physical properties of insulation and secondary teachers investigated thermal conductivity. Both groups then applied that knowledge to make a house more efficient at passive cooling, which helps reduce energy use and saves money in their homes and schools.

The PRC team also hosted its very first Hybrid Professional Learning at the Desert Research Institute where teachers participated in-person and virtually in our new Climate Scene Investigation (CSI) reverse breakout lesson! Teachers worked through a series of 5 multi-curricular puzzles to investigate global warming, climate change, and possible solutions from Project Drawdown. The energy and engagement were phenomenal and the 4 winning teachers received beautiful Project Drawdown Posters!
