Happy New Year! Since Envirolution runs in conjunction with the school year, we released our annual report from 2022 months ago. We’re ahead of the curve!  So far this year, we’ve already done exciting things and made a lot of progress. This fall, we’ve reached 418 students in CQ, and 87% of them said they loved the experience!  Plus, in our Title 1 schools, 93% of students said they loved the experience! We have 27 Career Quests planned for this spring and will be visiting seven businesses. We’re excited to announce that we have hired a new grant writer! Ryan Whitman-Morales is a professional project manager, fundraiser, and grant writer who supports Envirolution from the pine forests and rolling wheat fields of northeastern Washington State. Ryan holds an M.B.A. from Willamette University in Salem, Or,  and a B.A. in History from the University of Oregon. Ryan also works directly with First Nations communities to access resources and drive projects that empower and create self-determination; he is both personally and professionally dedicated to solving key issues around climate change, access to quality modern education, and supply chain/food distribution and security. Pardon our dust! We are so pleased to announce that we have moved into a bigger location, centrally located near the airport. This new space features a large training room to host teachers, a conference room, and six office spaces to accommodate all of our staff and volunteers. While we’re not quite ready to open our doors to the public just yet, we are so excited to welcome you to this space in the coming months. Last week we welcomed Alex Cebulske to the team as our new AmeriCorp VISTA Evaluation and Research Coordinator! Alex is from the Dallas/Fort Worth area in Texas and graduated from Texas A&M with a bachelor’s degree in Political Science with a minor in History. Following graduation, Alex served with AmeriCorps in Newark, New Jersey as a 7th-grade math tutor. Envirolution is thrilled to welcome Amari S. Cummings to the Envirolution team! Amari is an alumna of Virginia Commonwealth University(VCU) where she studied Global Education and was a recipient of the Benjamin A Gilman Award through the U.S. Department of Education in 2019. Amari served at a university level as the Weekend Programming Coordinator for the Activities Programming Board at VCU where she planned over 50+ campus wide events for attendance of over 20,000 attendees.
