Energy Bike Engineer Volunteer Position

Most students never get a chance to make their own electricity and take for granted how easy it is to flip on a switch. By building a bicycle generator you enable students to pedal their way to power while also solidifying energy concepts.

In an effort to build capacity and offer energy efficiency educational opportunities to teachers, students, and community members in Washoe County, the Energy Bike Engineer will be responsible for updating and refining our Energy Bike system, allowing community members to produce their own electricity and learn about energy concepts in the process. In addition to Envirolution using the Energy Bike at community events, we will be able to loan out energy bicycles to teachers in the Washoe County School District for use inside the classroom. Envirolution will accommodate a flexible work schedule to accommodate a 60 hour project over two months. This new energy bike system will be used to engage and empower students and community members for years to come!

For preferred qualifications and how to apply, check out our volunteer description.
