On October 7th, in support of National Energy Efficiency Day Envirolution, SWEEP, NV Energy, and the Governor’s Office of Energy recognized the efforts of robotics students from Dayton Intermediate in Lyon County.  Last year these students completed a Project ReCharge LED school retrofit proposal, which was funded by Envirolution and our partners.  Once installed, the school will start saving close to $9,000/yr in energy costs. Check out the news clip from the event.Read More →

This year it has been amazing to see teachers engaging with their students in creative ways. Our very own Project ReCharge teacher Cameron Piggott from Sawyer MS in Las Vegas has been working with us to supply his distance learning students with individual bags of hands-on materials. We were able to join his class virtually and watch as students, parents, and siblings attempted to light a light bulb with a battery and a paperclip. Students were able to help each other by showing their work to the camera or even asking questions and giving advice through the chat. Great job Cameron!Read More →

Just before the first snowfall in Reno, Envirolution was able to host another successful Pickett Park Cleanup on Saturday, November 7th.  We had a great turnout with 15 volunteers that helped the Envirolution staff keep Pickett Park clean. Everyone followed the proper safety protocols and had a great time despite the windy weather.  We collected close to 36 pounds worth of trash and two huge jars of cigarette butts.  Our next one will be in March of 2021, but in the meantime do your best to keep our parks clean.Read More →

Envirolution hosted its inaugural Board Retreat on September 26th and it was a great way to help reinforce the roles of our current Board Members while also being able to welcome our newest Board Member, Breann Koep to the team.  Her financial experience as the Cost Manager of Tesla along with her positive & motivated outlook will be invaluable as Envirolution continues to grow. We are also excited to announce our new Board Chair, Mara Langer.  Mara has been an outstanding Board Member since the beginning of 2020 and her strategic skills have helped keep the Envirolution board organized & motivated. Mara’s continuous dedication to Envirolution’s mission paired with her non-profit and developmentRead More →
